Does Valve have any plans of making an anti-hack for the people who would like to play this game in a competitive manner? I understand that the revenue they make from new accounts far outweighs the idea of making the CSGO a non-hacker friendly environment. Overwatch was a cool idea, especially because you could outsource the labor to the community, but it doesn't work, obviously. It baffles me that inserting clients like ESEA and AltPug mitigates the hacker population to the extent that it does. Surely the developers of the game have the smarts to do something similar if a third party company can do it so easily and with a fraction of the funding.
Here's an idea. Search Google, find the most commonly used hacks and find a way to make them easily detectable by an anti-hack - and here's another cool idea, make it a priority over designing new and flashy weapon skins. Switch mate, whilst most of us (bar the obvious idiotic trolls & hackers) feel the same way, there is pretty much NO way to get rid of the amount of hacks that are available. ESEA, AltPug, Leetway, FaceIT, ESL etc, all have anti cheat software, BUT, they are not as good as most of us are led to believe.
Other than idiotic kids that just abuse their parents credit cards and buy the game repeatedly, most hackers use paid for or homebrew hacks. Those two types of hacks are nigh on impossible to block or detect. People who use these hacks are annoying, but also pretty cunning. Don't get me wrong I ♥♥♥♥ing hate hackers, with such a passion it is unreal, but they have a level of intelligence and persistence that you have to admire. Every time someone comes up with a way to block their hacks, they change them and bypass the blocks or detection. VAC does a great job, you just have to give it a chance, it can take anything upto 32 days for a VAC ban to take effect. The same goes for all anti cheat software out there, none of them are automatic instant bans, they all take upto a certain amount of time to place the bans on the people they have caught.
O/W is doing as good a job as we can, BUT the issue is that certain players in the O/W pool are hackers themselves. This kind of limits the use of the O/W system, but doesn't negate the good that we try to do.
All in all, the systems that are in place now do a great job of catching and banning the offenders, whether it is isntantaneous or time framed, they are always caught. The biggest issue atm is that ALOT of people, not just hackers, but rankers, trolls & just general players, are buying more than one copy of GO whilst it's on sale, and 'smurfing' (i don't actually know why its called that or what it is but heyho.). But yeah, the main reasons there has been such a large increase in hackers these days is becuase the game is constantly on sale and the idiots are rebuying the game. Basically, give it time and it will settle down again. Just enjoy the festive season and have fun:).
