I have installed the latest video card driver for the NVIDIA Quadra FX 380M card. I also followed your recommended step two above to get automatic driver updates. Unfortunately, the Apple Cinema 30' display will still only display 1280x800. The monitor listed in the device manager appears as 'Generic PnP Monitor'. Is it possible that this Generic PnP Monitor setting for windows 7 does not yet support displays at 2560x1600?

In the list of available drivers you will find several named 'Digital Flat Panel' which have high resolutions. Try the one for 'Digital Flat panel (2560x2048 60Hz). The 60hz spec is important because you don't want to exceed the maximum refresh rate of your monitor. Hopefully you will find 2560x1600 in the list of available display settings with that driver.
